Ginkgo biloba, algemeen bekend als ginkgo of gingko[4] (beide uitgesproken als /ˈɡɪŋkoʊ/), ook bekend als de notenboom, is de enige levende soort in de divisie Ginkgophyta, alle andere zijn uitgestorven. Het is een lid van een zeer oud geslacht, met enkele fossielen die 200 miljoen jaar oud zijn. De boom komt oorspronkelijk uit China en wordt op grote schaal gekweekt en werd al vroeg in de menselijke geschiedenis gekweekt. Het heeft verschillende toepassingen in de traditionele geneeskunde en als voedselbron.
